Purchased from Abberlyn Park Arabians in 2013, Abbey is our most recent addition to our competition team. A beautiful rising 10 year old, Polish purebred mare, Abbey carried me to my first completion at the 2013 Kilkivan Tom Quilty! A tough, no-fuss little mare Abbey knows her job extremely well and Alannah and I have thoroughly enjoyed this little mare's company.

2014 saw her first two successful completions with Alannah on board, finishing both rides in equal first place. An attempt to get Alannah qualified for the Quilty was unfortunately unsuccesful in Moyston, Victoria this year with a lame vet out on the 4th leg, a tough concussive course, it took its toll.

Abbey had the most successful year to date in 2015, with a completion in the 50th Anniversary Tom Quilty, a completion in her first Shahzada 400, and a 2nd place MWT in the SAERA State Championships.

Bring on 2016!

is a Partbred (75%) mare who was given to Alannah as a 4 year old by my dear friend Dianne Sullivan at Abbeywood Stud in Queensland.  A super athletic mare with huge ground covering movement and  a bring-it-on attitude to work , Jem has been a challenge at times for Alannah as her first true Endurance horse. Many kms in the saddle and plenty of blood sweat and tears saw this team successful qualify both horse and rider.

Jem was awarded SA Distance Junior Horse and High Point Junior Horse and together Alannah and Jem also won the Junior Division One Horse One Rider Award for 2012.

Sadly a  nasty paddock injury mid season saw Jem having to be turned out for 18months to recover and we were unsure if she would return. However 2014 saw her back in work and Jem has successfully completed 5x80kms rides since her injury including a 1st MWT and BC at Raglan in Victoria in 2014.

However early in her preparation for the 2015 Tom Quilty  we have needed to retire Jem as a riding horse as sadly her nasty injury has come back to haunt her. Jem is happily paddock sound and we don't mind having a mare of this calibre being added to the broodmare paddock as much as we will miss riding her.

Angel is a 12 year old, 14.11/2hh, purebred Arabian mare with lovely Silver bloodlines. She was bought by the Stud as a broodmare, but when we needed another riding horse in 2012, Angel was dragged from the paddock! She started her career here at Almazaan in the Show Ring in 2011 by winning Champion Mare 9 years + at the SAARABS State Championships and placing Top 5 in the Purebred Mares 4 years and over at the same show for 2012. She just seemed to take everything we threw at her in her stride.

The weekend before this A grade show in 2012 Alannah and Angel were first in the Junior Division at Dergholm Endurance Ridein Victoria and Angel also won the Best Conditioned Award. Not bad for a fortnights work!  She isn't afraid to tackle a jump either and has been to various clinics and took those XC and show jumps all in her stride.
Alannah qualified Angel as a yellow book mare with the first ride of the season for 2013 and by the end of the year Angel had won the States Distance and Points Horse in the Junior Division. A much loved, precious mare we were so disappointed when she ended up with an injury before the season had quite finished.

Angel is expecting a foal by Adras for the 2015/16 season. We are holding our breath for this foal, and expecting something very special!!

And SPECIAL he is.. please see our 2015 Foal page for details

Our original sire here at Almazaan, Asher was gelded when he didn't grow past 14.1.1/2hh. Sire of Almazaan Rumor Has It (AF 4141), Almazaan Summer Haze(F31986) and Almazaan La Lola(AF 423886) , Asher has played a significant role here in breeding future riding horses. Rising 6, he is now enjoying the start of his saddle career. By the super talented  stallion,West Coast Acharon( S21005) we have high hopes for Asher. He  started his career in the show ring as a youngster and was named Reserve Champion Colt at the SAARABS State Championships in 2010. Shown again at the 2012 SAARABS State Championships he was acknowledged with a Top 5 placing in the 4-8year old Purebred Gelding Class. He has been under saddle with regular lessons for quite some time now with Alannah on board. Having a break over this winter we hope to present him at an Endurance ride later on in 2014. Asher has been to one endurance outing as a 4 year old, tackling a 20km introduction ride with a smile on his face. He is a pleasure to ride.

2015 has seen Asher continue his success both in the show ring and the start of his endurance career. He is now a qualified Endurance horse having attempted and completed 4x80km rides with a fabulous work ethic and great heart.

Bring on 2016!

Anglo Arabian 15.1hh. A super star endurance horse with the breeding and the attitude to take it all on board. My best mate for a 100's of kms out on track he is now retired. "Verdi" and I achieved plenty, including 4x1st placing at 80kms and over, 3x BC Awards and a TOP 5 placing in the Victorian State Championships 160km in 2010 . He has a very well earnt place amongst the retirees here at Almazaan Stud.

is amongst our newly qualifed Endurance Horses. An Anglo Arabian, he has an enormous stride and at almost 16hh he covers the ground with ease. Marshall will be campaigned in the 2013 season after being slowly legged up for the past 18 months. Easy to handle and with excellent HRs and recoveries he shows lots of promise.

Marshall has now been sold to the UAE
